Introduction to the Introduction
This "Introduction to the Introduction" for the English Internet version of the children's training book "Vom Zungenkämpfer zum Schluckmeister" (From Tongue Athlete to Swallow Master) is intended to deal with the "Why bother", why the "exercise Book for´Facial Muscles from 19865 appears today here in the present on the Internet. It is not surprising to find today that the concern about the treatment of muscle malfunctions in the face (head and neck) area in children is at least as acute as it was in 1986, when Norbert Netzer's "Children's Therapy Exercise Picture Book" was created. Norbert was a science journalist. An acquaintance, Melanie Kaltenegger, was an artist an author of children's books, and the Doctor for Dental Diseases; Erhard Thiele dealt with muscular dysfunction disorders in the head and jaw area in his practice and in treatment, as well as in lectures and publications. It had been found that this therapy was successful in the USA. The exercises for the correct posture of the tongue, lips, lower jaw and head can be seen as basic building blocks for the correction of erroneous neuromotor movement patterns in the mouth, jaw and face area and the resulting system errors. The original book, like this website, assumes that the start of the training takes place under professional guidance, but is later continued on your own initiative. |
Here in the English version of the website, some pages with useful training additions have been inserted, but the old page numbers in memory of the original book from 1997 have been left, without relevance. At that time, there existed nothing comparable in Germany. Therefore, the dentist Dr. Rolf Herrmann invited some colleagues to a meeting at which an association for the promotion of this therapy in Germany was founded. The working group (AK. MFT) for Myofunctional Therapy. The interest in it was very great, and in a few years the number of members grew to over 90. The wheel was set in motion, the task was accomplished, and the working group dissolved. However, since the Internet statistics for the website of Erhard Thiele, WWW.Myonet.de has many visitors, he (I myselfe) has decided to revive the Children's Picture Exercise Book in Polish on the Internet at the suggestion of my colleague Beata Bialas from: 47-303 Krapkowice (logopeda@beattabialas.pl). The English version was obvious, and of course a German "revival" was not to be missed – not as a printed picture book, but as a generally available Internet version. This is the case here for the English version. The author hopes that his colleague Beata Bialas will one day take over the direction of this website - - - and this brings us now to the extended Internet edition of the printed exercise book >
